Symposium Biological Control 2010
Biological control referred to the use of organism to control populations of other organism. This beneficial agent includes a wide variety of life forms, i.e. plants, animals and microorganisms commonly present in natural ecosystems that help maintain the balance of nature by regulating the density of their host or prey populations. An increase of concern over environmental problems as the result of intensive use of synthetic agents such as pesticides, herbicides and fungicides has led to the recognition of the importance of biological control. BIOLOGICAL CONTROL 2010 is organised to promote research and application of biological control. Participation of researcher and practitioner are particularly welcome.
The symposium will be focused on the topics of management, biodiversity, host/prey population dynamics, application and production of biological control agent. The symposium will be organized as a one day seminar where researcher, practitioner and those who are interested in the topic can present and discuss their works.
